A Seat at the Table: An Evening with JAIDE & Crocs

A Seat at the Table: An Evening with JAIDE & Crocs

An intimate gathering rooted in softness, restoration, and the power of sisterhood.

The air at JAIDE Charlotte’s lounge carried a warmth that went beyond temperature, it was the kind born from connection, intention, and community. On August 7th, JAIDE and Crocs came together to host an intimate dinner, creating space for women of color to be seen, heard, understood, and celebrated.

Each guest represented the heartbeat of the Queen City, women whose presence shapes the city’s fashion, culture, and creativity, and whose art captures the beauty of the city's events, restaurants, and lifestyle. This gathering was a safe place to pause and reflect: to honor the journeys that brought them here, to dream of where they are going, and to be met with love and support through every high and low. Above all, it was rooted in the power of softness, restoration, and joy in sisterhood. Serving as a reminder that leisure can be an act of resistance, and that claiming space at the table is an act of honoring Black and Brown women in all their brilliance.

The evening unfolded over a curated menu from local chef Whitney Thomas who is known for her southern cuisine. The first course offered Mini Caesar Salad cups, Lion’s Mane “Crab” Cakes, and Compressed Watermelon Bites, each plate crafted with elegance and intention. For the second course, guests chose between Roasted Cauliflower Steak, Spice-Rubbed NY Strip Steak, and Seared Red Snapper, dishes that felt both elevated and comforting. In hand, glasses brimmed with the Matcha Terre-tini and Cucumber Mojito from TWO11, a woman-owned bar service celebrated for their artful approach to cocktails.

Throughout the night, the room hummed with laughter, conversation, and the kind of connection that only grows when women are free to show up as their full selves. At the Pick Your Feels Florals bar, guests built their own bouquets, a literal and symbolic act of giving each woman her flowers. Each attendee left with a pair of Crocs Terre Clogs, a gift to carry into future rooms as a reminder of the beauty and presence they bring.

This was more than a dinner. It was an affirmation. A celebration of individuality and a collective embrace of what it means to rest, create, and thrive together. And as the night came to a close, the women carried something more lasting than their gifts, but a renewed sense of self, a deeper connection to each other, and the quiet yet unshakable knowing that their presence will always matter here and in every room they step in.
